- A Soft Noise Inside The Mind | OpenArt Gallery
Exhibition Info Works About By Inquiry Only A Soft Noise Inside The Mind Amiel Cagayat January 05 - February 04, 2025 In this body of work, Amiel Cagayat weaves together memory, sound, and silence through a language of surreal assemblage. Figures appear fragmented or transformed—heads replaced by flowers, instruments, radios, books, and machines—suggesting how identity is shaped not only by lived experience, but by what is remembered, recorded, and replayed. Recurring objects such as radios, telephones, cameras, and musical instruments act as metaphors for communication across time. They recall moments once heard, spoken, or felt, now suspended in quiet contemplation. The absence of faces emphasizes an inward gaze, inviting viewers to project their own memories onto the figures, turning each work into a shared psychological space. Nature—birds, flowers, clouds, and landscapes—softens the mechanical presence of these objects, creating a delicate tension between the organic and the constructed. This balance reflects the fragile relationship between emotion and memory: how feelings persist even as details fade, and how silence can be as resonant as sound. Rather than offering linear narratives, Cagayat presents memory as layered and nonlinear—assembled from fragments, impressions, and echoes. Together, these works form a contemplative meditation on longing, nostalgia, faith, and self-reflection, where the past is not simply revisited, but quietly re-imagined. - The Present Tense | OpenArt Gallery
Exhibition Info Works About By Inquiry Only Available Online The Present Tense July 08 - Aug 07, 2025 Archie Sumilang "The Present Tense" by Archie Sumilang Art is often a response to the unfiltered sensations of living: the fleeting thoughts, emotions, and experiences that shape our days. In The Present Tense , Archie Sumilang invites us into the immediacy of creation—an intimate dialogue with the present moment. Each piece in this collection is a reflection of what it means to embrace the "now." Free from overplanning or pretense, the works capture the artist’s intuitive impulses, revealing a raw, unpolished authenticity. Through spontaneous gestures, unexpected textures, and vibrant forms, the art embodies the transient beauty of life as it unfolds. For Archie Sumilang, this process is not about perfection but about presence. It is about surrendering to the flow of creativity and honoring the emotions and ideas that arise in real time. In doing so, the works become more than static objects; they are living records of the artist’s experience, offering viewers a moment of connection, introspection, and resonance. The Present Tense is an ode to mindfulness and spontaneity, reminding us that art, like life, is most profound when lived in the moment. - Anchored in Grace | OpenArt Gallery
Exhibition Info Works About Available Online Anchored in Grace April 23 - May 22, 2025 Rizdy Kahulugan In Anchored in Grace, abstract artist Rizdy Kahulugan presents a deeply personal collection where each painting serves as a response to titles such as My Lord and Savior, God Is Our Refuge, How Majestic Is Your Name, My Deliverer, and My Hope. These titles act as emotional starting points — not literal themes, but inner prompts that guide the artist’s hand and evoke deeply felt responses. Through bold color combinations, layered textures, and organic movement, Kahulugan translates emotion into form. His works are not intended as illustrations of specific verses or teachings, but as raw expressions of how these words feel. The calm of Peace, the quiet resilience of Perseverance, the radiance of Love, and the complexity of Hope each find their voice in a visual language that speaks directly to the senses. In this exhibition, abstraction is more than a technique — it becomes a means of exploring the weight behind the words. Anchored in Grace is not about doctrine or dogma; it is about connection. It is about feeling the emotional depth beneath each title and experiencing how color, shape, and silence can communicate what language sometimes cannot. The viewer is invited to embark on a journey of personal reflection, where faith, hope, and strength take on forms both familiar and new. - SIMULA, SUBOK, PANATA | OpenArt Gallery
Exhibition Info Works About Available Online SIMULA, SUBOK, PANATA Aeron Dizon Ronwel Cruz Soothsayer February 15 - March 14, 2026 SIMULA, SUBOK, PANATA A Three-Man Exhibition on the Stages of Love Love is never a single moment. It is a passage—tentative, demanding, and deliberate. Simula, Subok, Panata brings together Soothsayer, Aeron Dizon, and Ronwel Cruz in an exploration of love not as an idealized destination, but as a lived, evolving experience. Through distinct visual languages, the artists trace love’s movement from anticipation, to trial, to commitment—where emotions mature and meaning deepens over time. The exhibition begins with Simula (Getting to Know)—the fragile threshold where love first takes shape. Here, affection exists in glances, curiosity, and imagined futures. It is tender and incomplete, marked by projection and possibility. This stage captures love before certainty, when hope is louder than truth and vulnerability is still unguarded. It then unfolds into Subok (The Test / Dating Stage)—where emotions encounter reality. Desire intensifies, intimacy grows, and friction inevitably appears. This stage reflects negotiation: between self and other, freedom and attachment, expectation and compromise. Love is no longer hypothetical; it is tested, questioned, and reshaped. The journey culminates in Panata (Marriage / Commitment)—love as a conscious, enduring choice. Beyond romance, this stage confronts routine, responsibility, sacrifice, and shared life. Here, love is no longer performative or symbolic; it is sustained through patience, presence, and resilience. It is quieter, heavier, and more honest. Together, Simula, Subok, Panata presents love as a process rather than a promise— messy, evolving, and deeply human. - Quiet Structures | OpenArt Gallery
Exhibition Info Works About Available Online Quiet Structures Karl Lago January 05 - February 04, 2025 In Quiet Structures, Karl Lago presents a series of assemblages that dwell in restraint, attentiveness, and material sensitivity. Using dried palm cuttings as his primary medium, Lago constructs abstract forms that feel simultaneously intentional and unforced—shaped as much by patience as by composition. Each work is built through layering and balance rather than dominance. The palm fragments retain their natural grain, curvature, and irregularity, allowing the material to guide the final form. Acrylic is applied sparingly, functioning as an accent rather than a surface, introducing moments of color that breathe within the structure instead of overwhelming it. Earth tones are punctuated by soft blues, muted greens, and occasional brighter notes, creating a visual rhythm that mirrors organic growth. The structures that emerge are neither rigid nor chaotic. They occupy a space of quiet tension—holding together through subtle relationships rather than obvious symmetry. Titles such as You are a Garden, Sit with the Quiet, and Softer Volumes position the works as invitations to slow looking, where meaning unfolds through duration and attention. Rather than depicting nature, Quiet Structures listens to it. The works propose abstraction as a contemplative act—one rooted in care, stillness, and the understanding that structure does not require force. In this series, Lago offers forms that do not demand to be seen quickly, but reward those willing to pause. Exhibition Info Works About Available Online SOFT DAYS & STRANGE GARDENS Sandra Isabelle March 17 - April 16, 2026 Soft Days & Strange Gardens Paintings by Sandra Isabelle In the paintings of Sandra Isabelle, the world unfolds as a garden of gentle surprises. Shapes bloom into unfamiliar plants, colors drift between dream and memory, and everyday moments become quiet celebrations of leisure and imagination. Working from Davao, Isabelle creates vibrant compositions where botanical forms, playful creatures, and abstract landscapes coexist. Her visual language is both intuitive and whimsical—soft curves, dotted textures, and layered patterns forming ecosystems that feel at once invented and strangely familiar. Within these imagined terrains, time slows down. A flower growse yes, a lobster wanders into a garden, clouds hover like soft thoughts, and patterned leaves stretch across fields of color. The works evoke moments of pause: a quiet afternoon, a noontime nap, a stroll without destination. Rather than depicting nature as it is, Isabelle builds worlds that mirror emotional landscapes—spaces where curiosity, humor, and calm can coexist. Her paintings invite viewers to wander through these strange gardens and rediscover the beauty of small, unhurried joys. In a time often defined by urgency, Isabelle’s work offers something rare: the freedom to linger.
