BEYOND THE SUMMIT
A Solo Exhibition by Eddie Santillan

In Beyond the Summit, Eddie Santillan presents mountainous landscapes that open into spaces of memory, emotion, and reflection. Fragmented peaks rise through layered fields of colour, while drifting bands cross their surfaces like clouds, passing thoughts, or traces of time. These imagined terrains invite us to consider ascent as an inward journey, shaped by uncertainty, endurance, and moments of clarity.

Working in acrylic on canvas, Santillan brings geometric structure into conversation with delicate, densely worked textures. Turquoise, violet, and flashes of orange emerge against charcoal, muted earth tones, and pale expanses. Across the collection, monumental forms appear both solid and shifting. Their overlapping surfaces suggest the gradual accumulation of experience, while the spaces between them offer moments of quiet and release.

The exhibition’s title directs our attention beyond the achievement of reaching a peak. What remains after the climb? What becomes visible when we pause? Moving between luminous colour and subdued stillness, Santillan’s paintings leave these questions open. Beyond the Summit invites viewers to linger within the landscape and discover what the journey continues to reveal.
